The library is forming its own 4H group! If you would like to join simply pick up a form at the Service Desk or visit the 4H website for forms. We need just 5 members to get started. If you already participate in a 4H project (Archery, Robotics, etc.) you can still sign up. This is a general club service like those offered through public schools. Agent Ali Merck will hold a meeting once a month at our library; bringing you a broad range of programs. Click the new 4H Club tab for more information and check back for club dates and upcoming opportunities!
Khan Academy Study Day – Basic Algebra
Monday, September 26th at 10am
teens & preteens
Starting in September, we will offer a monthly study day for teens using Khan Academy, Crash Course and other online tools. Held in one of our study rooms with the big screen monitor and dry erase board, this is an opportunity to hang out with friends and help one another in a stress-free environment. Our first event will cover basic algebra. Khan Academy provides clear video tutorials on a variety of subjects allowing students to move at their own pace, and practice as they go. If you are a teen math wiz and looking to fulfill service hours for college/resume please come talk to us! We can use your help with this program.
Please join us this Thursday, September 15th at 1pm.
Guest Jeff Killip, of the Jefferson Public Works Department, will explore the science of composting, with a fun, quirky picture book take on “Old MacDonald’s Farm”. Kids will make their own potting soil and plant seeds to take home. This program is for grade equivalents K-4th.
