Workshop for Art in the Park

Please join us this Thursday for a self-led, drop in workshop for those interested in submitting art entries into the annual Art in the Park student art contest. We will supply everything you need to complete a Grant Wood inspired landscape drawing. This project can be adapted to all ages/abilities. Younger kids can draw one element, like the covered bridge, using pattern for interest. More advanced students may use skills such as perspective and shading to create a landscape with foreground, middle ground, background and horizon .

All art will be displayed in the Heritage Village area of the park and each grade level will be scored by a panel of independent judges. Three top winners will be awarded from each grade level. First place art will be considered as an entry for the 2017 Art in the Park commemorative T-shirt.  Winners need not be present to receive an award and all artwork will be returned to the library.

If you need more time to complete this project or would like to submit a different work of your own, please drop them by the library no later than 7pm Wednesday, September 7th.
